Thank you very much for the box of great items. We gave them out to the Marines right away. God Bless every one of you for putting selfless service to others first in your life. Semper Fi, SgtMaj Paul B, AFG 26 Dec 2013
I am a deployed soldier from the Minnesota Army National Guard. We were the recipient of one of your magnificent trees conveyed to us by Chaplain Staunton. We set it up in our headquarters where not only could we enjoy it everyday, but also everyone who comes to visit our commanding general and our staff can also enjoy it. We made the ornaments ourselves. They are pictures of members of our task force framed in cutouts of foam paper of snowmen, etc. We also found a string of lights, and some garland, and decorated it. It was remarkably strengthening to us to set up this tree. It bonded us together in what I am sure will be positive memories that will endure a lifetime. I am kneeling in the picture. In the photograph is our Commanding General, MG Timothy Kadavy and his aide de camp, MAJ Gordon Barksdale.
It means so very much to us that people like you remember us, think of us, and take the time to send such a magnificent gift. It helps us celebrate Christmas, helps us to remember home fondly, and reduces homesickness. It helps us remember tradition, and the wonderful memories of family. God Bless you all! Respectfully, James T, AFG, 17 Dec 2013
Hi everyone, I'm writing you all on the behalf of 3rd Platoon, Blackhawk Company, 2nd Battalion 87th Infantry Regiment. We've received your packages and they bring us a lot of necessary supplies, comfort foods and snacks and most importantly a little reminder of home. The Soldiers are doing very well here. They are working hard but have sufficient time to relax as well. When they leave the FOB, they take advantage of all the goods that you and their loved ones sends. I appreciate everything you do for us and thank you very much for boosting the morale of a very professional group of individuals that I cherish the privilege of serving with. Very gratefully,1LT Chris R, Platoon Leader, US Army Infantry, AFG 12-18-13
Message to DHL: Greetings I wanted to pass along a great big thank you for all of the Menorahs, Dreidels, cookies and decorations. Certainly made for a festive and light holiday. Best to you and your team and all of their help and assistance. Best, Robert E, Civ, AFG 15 Dec 2013
We received several boxes from Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon Inc recently. All of the delectable crunchy-chewy's and such are a welcome treat around here ... although it did get me in a bit of trouble. I brought the boxes in to our USO area and just left them there for the troops to take what they wanted. A SFC caught me in the act of being Santa Clause and shook her head ... and said alright chaplain I'll organize it. She just doesn't want her space looking cluttered. Well, we are looking forward to real Christmas Trees. I'm organizing an international Christmas Choir ... it should be a great time. Thanks again for everything. CH Jess S, AFG, 12-11-13
You continue to spoil us - another great package - and just in time for the holidays too! Thank you for helping bring Christmas cheer to all of the Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Take care. BG Andrew P, AFG, 12-11-13
Thank you so much for the boxes of holiday cheer you have sent our way! We will be sure to send our emailed thanks to the donors we have addresses for. We have been able to restock our Clinic and push some items forward to smaller camps for Soldiers who may not get as much. Thank you for your support and efforts to enhance the Holidays for those celebrating far from families! SSG Katie B, TBI Clinic, AFG, 10 December 2013
Thank you for your kindness & generosity during the holidays - your work is very much appreciated! MAJ D // Thank you for your support and sending so many thoughtful items! MAJ B, TBI Clinic, AFG 10 Dec 13
Hello friends in NJ, Thank you so much for the love and support during this past deployment. All of my Soldiers here appreciate the kindness. I am at the end of the line, three trips and 37 months in this theater since 2006. Time to go home and spend a few months (years?) with the family now. Take care and have a great 2014!Blessings, Ch Jerry J, 10th MTN DIV, AFG, 6 Dec 2013
Please accept my heartfelt thank you for your donation to the 143rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion golf tournament. Without your generous support this tournament would not have been possible. We had 18 teams and a total of 72 golfers participate from several units at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
The "Swamp Yankee Golf Scramble" was a great success because of your support. Everyone who participated had a great time. The tournament provided a much needed and appreciated break from the normal monotony of our mission here in Kuwait. It also helped to boost morale and unit cohesion. We were also able to raise money for our family readiness group.
Again, thank you for your support. We are all looking forward to returning to our friends and family soon and appreciate the help in making our time here in Kuwait go by a little quicker. Sincerely, Thomas P Dennis, LTC, Commander, 143rd CSSB, CT Army Natl Guard, 12 Nov 13
On behalf of the men and women serving in the 47th Garrison Command, I would like to express my sincere thanks for sending us such a generous care package. Your support not only provided the members of the Command with several items of need, but more importantly, it demonstrated that people back home care about them.
Your package raised the morale, which is something not easily accomplished, and as the Commander, I am grateful for more than the words might possibly express. You've made a difference to those here at (location). Thank you and every member of your organization. Sincerely, COL Richard W, AFG, 29 Nov 13 (via letter)
Dear Elks, Here are some pictures I took of the boys: 2nd PLT is constucting a guard tower while I, the one will the full uniform on the left corner, took a cigar (thank you very much) break with my 1st PLT by one of our vehicles, a MAX Pro. I know the commander gave you the link to our FB page where you will be able to get more pictures. Feel free to email me if there are any questions. Once again thank you so much from all the BOYs of Bco and myself for all your support and hard work on giving us small comforts from back home. 6 Dec 2013, AFG, 1SG Gonzo

Many thanks to everybody at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. My staff and the squadrons enjor more than a few cups of coffee while embarked and - sadly - our standard Navy issue beans are far from gourmet. Your gifts are greatly appreciated. When I'm tired after a long flight, a good cup of coffee can make my day. Thank you! Sincerely, CDR Matt (name withheld OPSEC), Carrier Air Wing 7 Operations Officer
Dear Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, We have received the cookies you have sent. Wow! There was a lot! We have distributed them throughout the Operations Department here aboard USS Dwight D Eisenhower. The Thin Mints brought smiles to all of our faces. It has been a long deployment, it wasn't just the deliciousness of the cookies that won the smiles, it was the fact that someone cared enough to send them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Operations Department, USS D D Eisenhower (with lots of signatures all over the card!!!) 5 June 2013, underway somewhere in the Middle East
We recently finished up a port visit where we were able to provide the crew with some much need R&R. Upon my return to the ship, my office was packed with Girl Scout Cookies from Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. Attached are some photo’s of me with my divisions as I presented the cookies to them on your behalf. I assure you they did not go to waste and I was lucky to escape with my fingers attached. From all 650 Sailors attached to IKE’s Air Department, thank you, your organization and the entire support network at AaSP for your continued support of our nation’s finest. Your program is absolutely unbelievable in what you have and continue to accomplish. Best regards with much appreciation,Master Chief DC (name withheld due to OPSEC), underway, USS IKE, 5 June 2013
Today we did a couple drawings for two of the TRX systems you provided us. The winners were Supply Stock Control Division and Engineering Electrical Division. Thought you might like to see the photo of the winners. Your continued support is very much appreciated and I want you to know our deployment is going great. The weather in the (redacted info) is very tolerable. We are hopeful we're out of the region before the real heat arrives. Cheers my friend! CMC Gregg S, USS Dwight D Eisenhower, 7 Apr 2013

Thank you very much for donating the blankets for the Kabul Orphanages! Blankets were specifically requested by the Orphanage staff, so I know that they will be much appreciated. Donations like yours allow us to continue our Orphanage Outreach program here in Kabul. That program not only helps disadvantaged local children, but it also is a big morale booster to the U.S. troops stationed here who volunteer their time to support the program. We love visiting the orphanages and providing the children with items that will make their lives better. I think that it also helps to foster goodwill between the common Afghan people and Americans. Thanks again for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Sincerely,COL Bill C, Kabul, Afghanistan 16 March 2013
Hello Ms. Elissa and all members of the Community School, I am writing this letter because we at the US/ALB Military AdvisoryTeam have received a care package from you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything! Sincerely,SSG Edward N, AFG, 2 Mar 2013
I got your email today and wanted to forward the pictures of me and the guys using all of the stuff you sent. Thank you again so much for taking care of us! I walked into Top's room this morning and it smelled like a starbucks from all of the coffee he was brewing. I can't say enough about the TRX - what a great workout! And the best part is that we can bring it along whenever we aren't here in the little camp! Thank you again, Capt Ryan S, AFG, 2-25-13
I want to thank you for all the letters and support. it brought tears to the eyes of an old Soldier. I have been a Soldier for 23 years and love being able to take care of the Soldiers under me. My Soldiers appreciate the items sent and I thank you for them. A 1SG takes care of all Soldiers' needs if at all possible and I love doing it. The letters from the children touch our hearts for many of us have children ourselves. Again, thank you and God Bless you. 1SG Michael M, "Sappers Forward" AFG Feb 2, 2013
Thank you ALL for the generous donations to my Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen this past holiday season. I put the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon boxes under our unit Christmas tree and we opened them Christmas morning. Almost like being home. For so many of my men who have been deployed multiple times and they all said this was the best Christmas ever! Your gifts made this wonderful memory possible.
It is really great and motivating to know great Americans are still supporting their Troops and the families. You should know all our young men and women in Service here and at home are America's finest and we can all be proud of them! Again, you have our thanks. From your Troops at (withheld), thank you.
